Ralph Nader
is an activist focusing on environmental and consumer rights issues. Former presidential candidate of the Green Party, he runs as an independent in 2004. Because of the controversies over vote-splitting in the 2000 election, many Democrats urge Nader to abandon his candidacy. Nader refuses to withdraw from the race, citing the importance of removing troops from Iraq.
