Dick Cheney is a politician and businessman affiliated with the U.S. Republican Party whose public service career began under the Nixon administration in 1969. As Halliburton's CEO in 2000, Cheney headed the Vice-Presidential search committee. After reviewing the findings, George W. Bush asked Cheney himself to join the Republican ticket.
