Dear ECOresearchers,
We look forward to seeing some of you at the upcoming HICSS-38 Minitrack on Environmental Online Communication. Major topics covered are the access of environmental information via mobile devices, the importance of trust for successful fundraising via the World Wide Web, and the participatory design of community computing applications.
Given that even shorthaul flights produce the same amount of greenhouse gas as driving a compact car for about three months, we encourage all HICSS-38 participants to minimise the environmental footprint of their attendance through one of the certificates offered by Future Forests. This initiative aims to neutralize human activities' contribution to global warming through forestry and climate-friendly energy projects. It contracts with planting and technology partners to achieve the required CO2 savings.
Mele Kalikimaka and a Peaceful 2005!
